How to play
From 1 player · no sign-up · movie quiz, a “who is better” bracket on one phone and an online room
The main game is the movie quiz: an actor's photo and four options. The questions vary: who is in the photo, which film an actor is in, who played a role, what year a film came out, who has an Oscar, who directed it. After every answer the game shows the film, the year and the role — so you don't just guess, you learn. In a group the phone goes around: each question goes to the next player. The second mode is the “who is better” bracket: two names on screen, tap the better one, the winner moves on.
Points: In the quiz you get a point for each correct answer and a rank at the end: Popcorn lover, Attentive viewer, Movie buff or Film critic. In a group the winner is whoever has the highest share of correct answers. In the “who is better” bracket points go for reading other people, not for taste: alone — matching the world's majority, two players — guessing your partner's pick, a group — matching the table's majority; a bet on the champion is worth 3 more.
Worth knowing: The quiz has 85 world actors and directors and more than 200 films, with titles and roles in the interface language; after you answer you also see the original title. The Oscar here means an acting Oscar only: people whose Oscar is for writing or directing are left out of that question. Every quiz is new; 10 or 20 questions. The “who is better” bracket also has a daily duel with a leaderboard, a challenge link for a friend and an online room with a timer and bots.
Not allowed: Prompting the player whose turn it is — a group quiz only works if it's fair. And don't rush to tap “Next”: the fact after each answer is half the fun.
